Biodiversity In Action - 5th grade

The Biodiversity In Action program was designed for 5th grade students and reinforces the SC Curriculum Standards for Inquiry and Life Science.  The program is taught here on the island on our nature trail system and focuses on the following subjects:

• Ecosystem studies

• Adaptations of plants and animals

• South Carolina habitats

• Observation skills

• Biodiversity

This program includes a booklet with pre-visit, on-site, and post-visit activities.  All activities are hands-on and take place on our nature trail system.  It is very important that the students dress appropriate for the weather.  The Biodiversity In Action program is offered from mid-January  through the end of March.  Contact the Education Director at (843) 987-2073 for more information or to sign up for a field trip.
