Conservation of Marine Resources Port Royal Sound is a naturally unique and bountiful ecosystem that, so far, has escaped some of the destruction found in other coastal areas. As the pace of development increases in Port Royal Sound, it is important to keep an eye on the animals that inhabit our saltwater areas. One species that appears to be declining is the cobia.
